Willpower-1
I enjoy challenging myself with perspectives and body parts that can be difficult to represent. This painting has one of those perspectives, but it was also fascinating how much I wanted to rebel against painting a nose that is just “wrong.” The subject of this painting had a nose that had been broken so many times that nothing outside of plastic surgery was every going to make it look “right” again. I wanted to paint her nose in a way that made it look “right” to me. It was interesting how difficult it was to paint her nose as it was and not how I wanted it to be.
