I began this large beauty with an initial intention in mind. Then, as I applied layer upon layer, she started developing her own independent identity. I let go of any attachment to my original plan and let her become exactly what she wanted to be. I love her. Combined with her larger-than-some-people size, she can have a dominating presence.
This little girl did not come quietly. Nor will she quietly let you project upon her your romanticized notion of a cute kid. Despite (or because of?), many many many months of arguing with her, I absolutely love and adore her.
When are our interpretations of other people’s interactions honest, and when are they our own projections?
